Sherry McKee was married to a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran for 43 years. Together, they spent a lot of time traveling and visiting military museums, often finding them in out of the way places. 

        After she lost her husband, Gary, Sherry decided to gather information on museums in her area, hoping that other people might find her research helpful. The project expanded to a nationwide search across all branches of service, and quickly evolved into this comprehensive guide book. 

        While not intended to be a complete list of every military museum in the United States, it is a well-curated guide to select museums, monuments and memorials which may be of particular interest to those with a passion for preserving history—especially veterans.
